The short answer
The Clubhouse: Laietana is the newer of the two Comedy Clubhouse rooms, at Via Laietana 6 in Ciutat Vella. It programmes comedy in English on most days of the week, and the ticket price starts at nothing for the open mics and the Wednesday pub quiz.
Go here if you want a bar and a kitchen around the show, a Sunday-to-Thursday option, or a first night of comedy in English that does not cost much. Think twice if stairs are a problem, or if you want the small basement feel of the original room; for that, read the Canvis Nous review.
This room is place 1 in the Top 10 comedy clubs in Barcelona, with a review score of 93. It has shows every night, the most shows of any club, and the widest range of languages. How we rate shows the points per criterion for every club.
At a glance. Address: Via Laietana, 6, 08003 Barcelona. Two show floors, The Alcove and The Lounge. Kitchen on site. Prices in our data run from free to €24 for a headline show. Language: English, with some Spanish, Catalan and Italian nights that are labelled. Book on the Clubhouse showcases page.

What the room is like
Laietana has two show floors. The Alcove is upstairs, and food can be eaten during the shows there. The Lounge is downstairs; no food is served during a show, so the club asks you to order 40 minutes before the start.
The kitchen is on site and, according to the club's FAQ, stays open late after the shows. That makes this the easier room for a meal and a show in the same place. If you plan to eat, pick an upstairs show or order early for a downstairs one.
The club's venues page calls The Lounge an 80-seater. It gives no seat count for The Alcove, so we say "not published" for that room and do not guess. Our score for the room is lower than for the shows for that reason, among others.
The room opened in July 2025, according to trade press coverage from June 2025. The club describes its sister room, Canvis Nous, as the original. The FAQ says the two are about two minutes apart on foot.
Getting in, and getting around inside
The club's FAQ describes the access in detail. Upstairs shows involve three wide stairs without a railing. Downstairs shows involve several sets of stairs with a partial railing.
A wheelchair-accessible toilet is on the ground floor. Smaller toilets are at the bottom of the stairs. If anyone in your group needs help, tell the club in advance: it offers early entry.

A normal week at Laietana
The club publishes a weekly pattern on its showcases page, and the dated event pages we read on 2 November match it. Here is the pattern for a week that is not a festival week. Times are the start times on the event pages.
| Day | What is on | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Coming In Hot open mic, 19:30. Shitty Mic open mic, 21:00. | Free |
| Tuesday | Fat Goose open mic, 19:30. Big Mic Energy, 21:00, an open mic for women, non-binary comedians and newbies, on the first and third Tuesday. | Free |
| Wednesday | Pub Quiz Show, 20:00, in The Alcove. Wednesday Night Comedy, 21:00, in The Lounge. | Quiz free. Comedy €8 online, €10 door, €7 for groups of 4+ |
| Thursday | Typical Adult Behavior improv, 20:00. BarceNova Music Open Mic, 21:00. The Spanglish Show, 22:00. | Improv €8 online, €10 door. Music free. Spanglish €10 online, €12 door |
| Friday | Show Up Go Up open mic, 17:30, doors 17:00. Clubhouse Karaoke from 23:00. On the last Friday: Trinxat, stand-up in Catalan, 19:00. | Open mic and karaoke free. Trinxat €10 online, €12 door |
| Saturday | Open Writing Workshop, 15:00. Show Up Go Up, 17:00, doors 16:30. Music nights late. | Free |
| Sunday | Open improv or clown workshop, 15:00. Sunday Night Comedy, 20:00, in The Lounge. | Workshops free. Comedy €10 online, €12 door, €8 for groups |
The Friday and Saturday headline showcases, The Friday Spotlight and The Saturday Spotlight, normally run at Canvis Nous, not here. On 7 November the Saturday Spotlight is the exception: it is a Fringe edition at Laietana, at 20:00 and again at 21:30.
The showcases page and the event pages disagree slightly on prices, as the club's own pages often quote a headline range. We use the price on each show's own event page. For example, the Wednesday Night Comedy event page says €8 online and €10 at the door.

What it costs
Prices at Laietana depend on the type of night. The open mics, the quiz, the workshops and karaoke are free. A normal showcase night costs €8 to €12 online.
In the dated listings from 2 to 15 November, the median paid ticket at Laietana was €10 online, and 50 shows were free. Headline Fringe shows cost more. The most expensive show in the data is Noam Live in Barcelona on 12 November, at €24 online and €26 at the door.
Three rules help you pay less. First, buy online: the club says online is cheaper than the door, and each event page lists both prices. Second, bring three friends: the group price for four or more is online only, and it is lower on every show that offers one, such as €7 against €8 for Wednesday Night Comedy. Third, look for the €5 shows in a festival week, such as Cougar Puberty on 6 November.
One show needs a warning. Scot Oswald: Rose Garden on 7 November at 12:30 is listed as free, but its event page also says "Pay What You Want" and "Consumption Required", and tickets were "coming soon" when we looked. Pay what you want, plus a drink, is the way to read it.

Who Laietana suits
A date night
Three nights work well. Wednesday Night Comedy at 21:00 is a showcase, which means a mix of acts rather than one performer for an hour. Thursday's Typical Adult Behavior is an unscripted improv night at 20:00. LOLyamorous, a speed-dating comedy show, runs on 6 November at 20:00 and on 21 November at 21:00.
Eat upstairs, or order food 40 minutes before a downstairs show. The kitchen stays open after the show, so you do not have to find a table at midnight. Our date night guide lists more options by budget.
A group of friends
Laietana is set up for groups in English. The group price starts at four people. On a normal week, Wednesday is €7 each, and Sunday and the Thursday Spanglish Show are €8 each, all booked online.
For a bigger party, the club has a corporate page; we have not read it and do not know its prices. Our group night out guide covers how to book for four or more.
Alone, or new in town
Monday and Tuesday are open mic nights and are free. The line-up is whoever signs up, so quality varies. Wednesday's pub quiz is free and is played in teams, with one comedian running it.
If you want to try stand-up yourself, the Saturday Open Writing Workshop and the Sunday improv and clown workshops are listed as free. Our workshops guide and stand-up and open mics guide say what to expect.
If you speak little English
The Clubhouse says most shows are in English, and a show in another language is clearly labelled. In our data for November, Laietana lists English, English and Spanish, Spanish, Italian and Catalan shows. The Thursday Spanglish Show at 22:00 mixes English and Spanish.
The showcases page says "All shows in English", but the FAQ and the event pages show other languages. Check the language line on the event page before you book a show that is not marked English.

Fringe week at Laietana
The Barcelona Fringe runs from 6 to 15 November 2026 and takes over both Clubhouse rooms, and our Barcelona Fringe guide lists the whole programme by day. Between 2 and 15 November the club lists 93 dated shows at Laietana, with 76 different titles. In the same period it lists 60 shows at Canvis Nous.
In those ten days the room runs from late morning to after midnight. On Saturday 7 November the listings start at 11:00 with a family magic show, then run roughly every hour and a half until a late show at 23:00. Most of the early and afternoon slots are free, and the evening slots mostly cost €5 to €15 online.
Two practical points. Many Fringe shows run for one hour, so you can see two in an evening. And the usual weekly shows change: the Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights lose their normal slots on 11 and 12 November and on 8 and 15 November, because Fringe acts take them.
The Top 10 comedy shows includes several shows from this room, and the Canvis Nous review covers the other half of the festival.

Booking, tickets and house rules
Tickets are sold on the Clubhouse website, through a Get Tickets button on each event page. You can usually also buy at the door unless the show has sold out. Some shows regularly sell out, so book ahead for the Saturday and Fringe evenings.
If a show is full, the club runs a waitlist at the door and sells any extra tickets 15 minutes after the start. Arrive on time: entry is guaranteed only if you do, and some solo shows admit no latecomers.
The club will refund or swap a ticket if you ask at least 24 hours before the show, but booking fees are not refunded. The general age rule is 18 and over. Visitors aged 16 and over may come with an adult, and under-16s only by exception, so contact the club first.
Dogs are allowed. The room is busy on Fridays and Saturdays, and dogs must be on a leash at Laietana. Both rooms have a bar. We found no minimum spend rule on the site.
You can reach the club by email at info@thecomedyclubhouse.es or on WhatsApp at +34 611 61 94 46; its FAQ says it does not take calls. For the metro and the night bus, use the route planner on TMB; we did not check station names for this page.

How Laietana compares
Against its sister room, Laietana is bigger in programme and easier for food. It has the weekday shows, the open mics and the pub quiz. Canvis Nous has the Friday and Saturday showcases and a basement with steep stairs. Most visitors to the Clubhouse will use both over a week.
Against the rest of the city, Laietana is the only club in our data that lists English shows on every day of the 14-day window from 2 to 15 November. Secret Comedy Club, in El Raval, lists an English open-mic night on Thursdays. Craft Barcelona, in the Gothic Quarter, lists a free English night on Wednesdays; we saw only the date of 4 November. The other six clubs in the Top 10 show no English shows in our data.
Compare the other clubs in the Top 10 before you decide, especially if you want a Spanish-language night.

How we scored the room
We score every club on six criteria worth 100 points. For Laietana, the data gave full points for shows and line-up, easy for visitors, and reliability. It gave less for value, because door prices are higher on some shows, and less for room and atmosphere, because only one of the two rooms has a published seat count.
Public ratings carry 10 points. The only public rating we found is a group rating, not a rating of the room: the Meetup group "English Comedy in Barcelona" has 4.6 from 732 ratings as of 2 November 2026. The club's own claim of more than 1,000 five-star Google reviews is not counted, because we could not check it.
We have not been to the room for this page, and nothing here describes a visit. Our own visit notes will be added once someone has been.

What public reviews say
The quotes below are word for word and credited as shown. The Google ones come from a widget on the club's venues page, labelled for Laietana and Nikki's. It shows only the reviews the club chooses, so read them as colour and not as a rating.
Emma Condie, Google review, a year old on 2 November 2026: “Super cool venue. Great food and drinks.”
Alazne Benito Cruz, Google review, also a year old: “In the bar, they have a good variety of bottled beers and the frozen margaritas were to die for.”
Torkey Hemdan, Google review, 11 months old: “The bartenders are very helpful and nice”
Before the room opened, trade site Chortle wrote that it “will feature two stages for stand-up, format shows and live music.” That is from its news item of 23 June 2025.

Questions people ask
How much is a ticket at The Clubhouse: Laietana?
It depends on the night. The open mics, the Wednesday pub quiz, the workshops and the karaoke are free. A normal showcase costs €8 to €12 online, such as €8 for Wednesday Night Comedy or €10 for Sunday Night Comedy. The door price is higher than the online price, and groups of four or more pay less when booking online.
Do I need to book in advance?
Not always, because the club says you can usually buy at the door unless the show has sold out. Online is cheaper, and some shows regularly sell out, especially on Saturdays and in Fringe week. If a show is full, a waitlist at the door sells extra tickets 15 minutes after the start. Arrive on time, since entry is only guaranteed then.
Are all the shows in English?
Most are, but not all. In our November data, Laietana lists English, English and Spanish, Spanish, Italian and Catalan shows, and the club labels any show in another language. The Thursday Spanglish Show at 22:00 mixes English and Spanish. Check the language line on the event page before you book.
Can I eat during the show?
Yes, in The Alcove, upstairs. In The Lounge, downstairs, no food is served during the show, so the club asks you to order 40 minutes before the start. The kitchen is on site and, according to the club, stays open late after the shows, so you can also eat once the show has finished.
Is Laietana accessible for wheelchair users?
Only partly. Upstairs shows involve three wide stairs without a railing, and downstairs shows involve several sets of stairs with a partial railing. A wheelchair-accessible toilet is on the ground floor. The club asks you to tell it in advance and offers early entry, so contact it before you book.
How old do you have to be?
The general rule is 18 and over. People aged 16 and over may attend with an adult. Children under 16 are admitted only by exception, and you must contact the club first. For a Fringe show or a late-night show, read the event page too, since it is the page that states the details of that show.
Do they serve alcohol-free drinks at Laietana?
The club does not say. Its venue and food pages describe a full bar at both Laietana stages and print no drinks list, so we cannot confirm which soft or alcohol-free drinks are stocked. The club does not take calls. Message it on WhatsApp before you go and ask, since replies usually come within 5 minutes in business hours.
Is there a drinks minimum or a cover charge?
We found no minimum spend on the club's FAQ or venue pages. Ticket prices sit on each event page. A few Fringe shows are listed as pay what you want with a drink required, so read the event page of the show you book. If that page is silent, ask the club on WhatsApp before you arrive.
How many seats does the room have?
The club's venues page calls The Lounge, the downstairs room, an 80-seater, where its professional showcases run. It gives no seat count for The Alcove upstairs, where the open mics, quiz and karaoke happen. Expect a close room either way, and book ahead for Saturdays and Fringe evenings because some shows sell out.
What time does Laietana open?
The venues page lists Monday and Tuesday from 6pm to 11pm, Wednesday from 6pm to midnight and Thursday from 6pm to 1am. Friday runs from 6pm to 3am, Saturday from 2pm to 3am and Sunday from 2pm to 1am. Show start times sit on each event page and can differ from the opening hours.
Is Laietana the top pick for English comedy in Barcelona?
It is place 1 on our review score, 93 out of 100, and the scorecard shows why. It is the only club in our data with English shows on every day from 2 to 15 November. The club's own Google widget shows 4.9 from 94 reviews, but the club picks what it shows. Compare it with Canvis Nous, which hosts the weekend headline nights.
What food is served, and can I book a table?
Food is served at Laietana only. The food page lists Mac Attack & Cheese at €10, vegan corn dogs at €8 and poutine at €8 on its Friday and Saturday menu, and a pizza menu runs Sunday to Thursday. Tables can be reserved until 22:00 through the food page or WhatsApp.
When should I arrive?
The club says the bar opens an hour before showtime, and it suggests arriving at least 30 minutes early to settle in and get a drink. For a downstairs show where you want to eat, order 40 minutes before the start. Leave extra time on Fridays and Saturdays, when the room is busy.
Can I watch football or other sport there?
Sometimes. The club says it shows major matches, and some smaller ones, when they do not clash with a show. It posts the monthly sports schedule on Instagram under @TheClubhouseBar. You can ask for a specific match on WhatsApp, but the club does not promise it, and a show always takes priority over a game.
How do I contact the club?
Not by phone call, according to its FAQ. It asks you to message on WhatsApp and says replies usually arrive within 5 minutes during business hours. The club also lists the email info@thecomedyclubhouse.es. Corporate and show bookings go to its core team, so say what you want in the first message and name the date.
