Best recurring comedy nights in Barcelona

The short answer

Barcelona has plenty of one-off comedy, but a recurring night is what lets you plan. This list ranks the weekly and monthly English-language nights we could read, on a scorecard of 100 points. Every price and day comes from a dated page.

Place 1 is Roast Battle Barcelona, on two Thursdays a month. Place 2 is LOLyamorous, a speed-dating show about once a month. Places 3 to 8 are weekly showcases, an improv night and a free quiz in the two Clubhouse rooms. Places 9 and 10 are Thursday and Sunday nights at two bars, and both need a check before you go.

Pick the roast battle for a loud Thursday, Saturday or Friday at Canvis Nous for a headline night, and Wednesday at Laietana for a cheap one. For a single evening, our Top 10 comedy shows mixes these nights with one-off acts.

A week built from the ten

Read the list as a calendar and it fills most of the week. Monday and Tuesday have no night in the ten, but free open mics just outside the list run on both days. The table gives the pattern for a week without Fringe acts.

One night sits outside the weekly grid. LOLyamorous is listed on Friday 6 November and Saturday 21 November at Laietana, about monthly. A night can also change room: on 12 November Typical Adult Behavior is listed at Canvis Nous for €5, spelled with the British ending.

The grid shows why Thursday and Friday are the easy nights to plan. Each has more than one option in the evening, so adding a second act costs no extra search. On Wednesday, the free quiz at 20:00 runs an hour before the showcase in the same building.

The ten nights, one by one

Each entry gives the day, the room, the price and the reason for the score. Prices are the online ones unless the entry says door. Addresses are in the section after the entries.

1. Roast Battle Barcelona

Score 90.5. Two comics at a time insult each other in rounds, and a panel of comedians names the winner, who moves up the Roast Battle League. The night lives in The Lounge at Laietana. The Eventbrite series listing sets it on the first and third Thursday of each month, starting at 22:00.

A seat costs €10 online or €12 on the door, and four or more friends pay €9 each. No dated night appeared on the Clubhouse series page on 2 November, so regularity is marked 5 and we name no date. Look at the Clubhouse calendar for the next one.

2. LOLyamorous: A Speed-Dating Comedy Show

Score 89.5. A monthly format at Laietana. People from the audience go on a two-minute date on stage, and the hosts then question and tease them. The club's copy compares it to a dating show crossed with a chat show.

Friday 6 November at 20:00 costs €10 online. Saturday 21 November at 21:00 costs €12 online, €15 at the door and €10 for groups. A ticket-site listing shows earlier runs in February, April and December 2024, with James Regal and Willow Star as hosts.

Our own rating puts the format at 10 of 10. It has no fixed weekday, so regularity is only 5. The date-night format adds a point to visitor fit. You can watch from your seat without going on stage.

3. The Spotlight (Fri & Sat)

Score 88. The weekend showcase in English, at 20:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. The club sells the nights as The Friday Spotlight and The Saturday Spotlight; the format, prices and room match, so we count one night that runs twice a week. It names no acts on the page; our own rating sets the format mark at 7.5.

The room changes once. The 7 November edition belongs to the Fringe and plays at Laietana, with a second session at 21:30. From 20 November the Friday and Saturday editions sit in The Rumpus Room at Canvis Nous. Online it is €12; the door asks €15; a party of four or more pays €10 a head.

The club calls the Friday night its "crown jewel" and promises a featured headliner, which is its own view. It gets full marks for visitor fit: a Ciutat Vella address, a prime start and a group price. Read the Canvis Nous review for the stairs and the bar before you book.

4. Sunday Night Comedy

Score 84.5. The Sunday slot at Laietana starts at 20:00 in The Lounge, with dates on 22 and 29 November because Fringe acts hold 8 and 15 November. Its listing promises "weekend-calibre" comedy.

Online it is €10, the door asks €12 and a party of four or more pays €8 each. Two dated pages back the stated weekly pattern, which is why regularity earns the maximum of 10.

5. Wednesday Night Comedy

Score 84. A midweek showcase that starts at 21:00 in The Lounge at Laietana, on 4, 18 and 25 November. The slot is empty on 11 November, a Fringe night. The club tags it a Top Pick on its own site, which is its opinion.

It is the lowest-priced weekly showcase on the list at €8 online, against €10 at the door and €7 for groups. Add the free quiz before it and an evening costs a single ticket.

6. Typical Adult Behavior

Score 84. An improv night on Thursdays at 20:00 in The Lounge, billed as unscripted, with dates on 5, 19 and 26 November. Our scorecard notes that English improv is rare in the city. The format needs no local knowledge, which helps a visitor.

Pricing matches the Wednesday showcase: €8 online, €10 at the door, €7 for groups. On 12 November it moves to Canvis Nous at €5. Quality is marked 5, since the page names no performers and nothing outside it backs the night.

7. Friday Night Live

Score 83.5. The late slot at Canvis Nous starts at 22:00 on Fridays, with dates on 20 and 27 November. The club lists touring comedians and surprise drop-ins, so the line-up stays unknown until the night.

Online it is €12, with €10 for four or more. A ticket-site title shows a night with the same name in the 2024 Fringe. Book it after the 20:00 Spotlight and both Friday shows share one room.

8. Pub Quiz Show

Score 82. Teams play a quiz hosted by a comedian in The Alcove at Laietana, on Wednesdays at 20:00, with 4, 18 and 25 November listed. Entry is free.

It scores 10 for value and for regularity and only 4 for quality, since it names no acts and has no outside signal. It earns its place by being free, central and weekly. It also suits anyone who wants a laugh without sitting through a set.

9. Imprfcto Comedy Show (Bar Imprfcto)

Score 76.75. A Thursday stand-up show at 21:00, billed as award winning stand-up in English and presented by Andy Casper. Payment is a reverse box office, so you set the price on the way out. That earns full marks for value.

The doubt is the date. The ticket page carries no day, and no Thursday in 2026 was confirmed on any page we read. The address also conflicts within the source, so we use Avinguda del Paral·lel 104 from the details block and call it unconfirmed. Open the listing first.

10. Basemint Comedy (Mint Bar)

Score 73.5. A Sunday stand-up show at Mint Bar on Passeig d'Isabel II. Doors open at 20:00 and the stage starts at 20:30, then runs about 90 minutes plus an interval. The host is Hector Ayala, and the venue admits 18 and over.

The organiser says it happens every Sunday, with a full hour from the host on the last Sunday of the month. We found no price, and the Eventbrite page read "event ended" on 2 November. Confirm a November Sunday before you go.

Just outside the ten

Six more recurring nights scored between 69 and 79.25. They did not make the list, but several suit a visitor. All are in English, apart from the bilingual Spanglish night.

• Coming In Hot and Fat Goose (79.25 each): free open mics at Laietana, Mondays and Tuesdays at 19:30, with doors at 19:00. The line-up is whoever signs up.
• Show Up Go Up (75.5): a free open mic in The Alcove, described as "Barcelona's most relaxed". It runs on Fridays and Saturdays in the late afternoon, on 20, 21, 27 and 28 November.
• The Spanglish Show (72.5): a bilingual showcase at 22:00 on Thursdays, €10 online. Only 5 and 26 November have event pages.
• Punchline Passport (70.75): a free, pay-what-you-want stand-up night at Craft Barcelona on Wednesdays, 19:30. We read only 4 November, so the weekly pattern is unconfirmed.
• Thorny Thursday (69): an open-mic style try-out night at Secret Comedy Club, Thursdays from 22:00 to 23:30, listed as weekly until 17 December 2026. No price is shown.

Where the rooms are

The Clubhouse nights split across two rooms in Ciutat Vella. Laietana is at Via Laietana 6 (map). Canvis Nous is at Carrer dels Canvis Nous 10 (map). A night in one room and a drink near the other is easy, since the club puts the walk between them at two minutes.

Mint Bar is at Passeig d'Isabel II 4, and Bar Imprfcto is on Avinguda del Paral·lel. The sources name no metro station for any of them, so plan on TMB and check the route for the hour you finish.

Stairs matter at both Clubhouse rooms. Laietana has three wide steps up to the shows with no handrail, while Canvis Nous is a basement reached by a steep stair. The reviews give the full access notes, and the club offers early entry if you ask in advance.

Booking and what to expect

Book online where you can. The club says online tickets are cheaper than the door, and each event page shows both prices. The group price for four or more applies only when you book online.

Some nights sell out, especially on weekends and in Fringe week. A full show gets a standby queue at the door, and spare seats go on sale a quarter of an hour after the start. Be there early, because a seat is only held until then. Book through the Clubhouse showcases page.

The Clubhouse admits adults only by default, and Mint Bar states 18 for its Sunday show. Check the event page for any night that matters, because it is the page that states the rule for that night.

How the list is built

Each night is scored on English-friendliness, format and quality, value, regularity and visitor fit. A fixed split reserves eight places for nights from the Clubhouse rooms and Secret Comedy Club, and two for nights elsewhere. Scores order the places inside each group.
