The short answer
Secret Comedy Club is a small comedian-run room under a restaurant at Carrer de la Junta de Comerç 28, in El Raval. Its English-language night is Thorny Thursday, a free try-out night that starts at 22:00. The club's own site also lists Fringe shows in English, and its longer runs on Atrápalo are in Spanish.
Go if you want a rough, close and cheap night. Think twice if you need a fixed weekly programme beyond Thursday, or step-free access. Neither is published.
This room is place 5 in the Top 10 comedy clubs in Barcelona, with a review score of 51. It has a good English night but publishes little, and the sections below show where the points went.
At a glance. Address: Carrer de la Junta de Comerç, 28, 08001 Barcelona, El Raval. English night: Thursdays, 22:00 to 23:30. Fringe show on 6 November at 20:00 for €5. Spanish runs from €12 and €15. 74 seats according to an older festival listing. Official site: secretcomedyclubbarcelona.com.

Where it is
The address is Carrer de la Junta de Comerç, 28, 08001 Barcelona. The barrio is El Raval, in Ciutat Vella, on the old-town side of the Ramblas. Two sources agree on the street and the number: the Meetup event page and the Atrápalo listing.
An older expat directory gives a different street, Carrer de Sant Pau 11B. We did not re-fetch that page and treat it as out of date. If your ticket says something else, trust the ticket.
One Atrápalo show page names Metro Liceo under how to get there. Plan the trip on TMB, which gives the metro, bus and night bus for any address.
Open in Google Maps to see the street before you go. The room is under a restaurant, so look for the restaurant door rather than a club sign. We have not seen a sign, and the club's site only calls the entrance hidden.

What the room is like
The data describes a comedian-run room under a restaurant. The Meetup text mentions a Chilean restaurant upstairs that serves empanadas and drinks. That is the only description of the building we could find, and it comes from an event listing, not from the club.
A 2025 festival listing gave 74 seats in the main space. We did not re-check that number this time, so read it as a rough size and not as a promise. For comparison, the club says nothing about seats on any page we read.
A room with 74 seats sits close to the stage. Expect to be near the act, and expect the act to notice you. In a room this size, a heckle, a phone or a late arrival is heard by everyone. Sit near the back if you would rather watch than be watched.
We found no information on air conditioning, the toilets or the stairs. We found no accessibility notes either. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, ask the organiser before you book. A room under a restaurant often means a stair, but no source says so here, and we do not guess.
The restaurant upstairs
The Meetup text says there is food and drink upstairs. It does not say when the kitchen closes, whether you can bring food down, or whether a drink is required. The Atrápalo pages do not say either. Treat the restaurant as an option for before the show and ask on the night.

What is on, and what is not known
The schedule is the weak point. The club's own site lists dated shows but no fixed week, apart from Thursday. The table below shows four listings from the club's site, Meetup and Atrápalo, and what is missing from each.
| What | When | Language | Price | What we do not know |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thorny Thursday: Comedy and Conversation | Thursday 5 November, 22:00 to 23:30, then weekly until 17 December 2026 according to Meetup | English | Free, reserve a seat | The dates after 17 December 2026 |
| Dead Parent Society | Friday 6 November, 20:00, Fringe | English | €5 | Whether it runs on any other date |
| Monólogos en el Secret Comedy Club | A run from 7 November to 28 November, about 90 minutes | Spanish | From €12 | Weekdays and session times |
| Red Flags: Spiritual Comedy Show | A run from 7 November to 5 December, about 45 minutes | Spanish | From €15 | Weekdays and session times |
In short, only one night has a known day and time that repeats. The two Atrápalo runs have start and end dates, but the listing gives no weekday and no clock time. We do not list a time we could not read.
The Barcelona Fringe site lists 12 shows at Secret Comedy for the festival, which runs from 6 to 15 November. We read only one of them, Dead Parent Society. The other eleven may include more English shows. Check the festival site before you plan around the table above.
One more listing needs a note. Fever carries a show called Addicts to Comedy that points to this room. When we looked, its page said no tickets were available. An earlier visit to that page had shown a rating of 4.0 from one review, which was not visible any more. We count neither.

Thorny Thursday in detail
Thorny Thursday is the night most English-speaking visitors will want. The Meetup page calls it a relaxed weekly comedy night where comedians try out new, fresh material. It adds a second part: the audience submits its weekly highs and lows, and they are read out.
In plain terms, this is a try-out night. Some acts will be new, some will be working on a few minutes, and some jokes will not land. That is the point of the format. Do not expect the pacing of a showcase with a fixed running order.
An October 2025 listing on Accrue called the night "THE weekly open mic". That is a promoter's line, not a review, but it shows the night has run before the current listing. The Meetup page says it runs weekly until 17 December 2026.
The slot is late: 22:00 to 23:30. That suits a second stop after dinner. It suits a first stop less well, because the room is under a restaurant and you will want to eat before the show starts.
The night is free. The page says to reserve your seat in advance or try the door on the night. Our English stand-up and open mics guide lists the other open mic nights in the city with prices where we have them.

The Fringe show and the Spanish runs
Dead Parent Society is a solo show listed on the Barcelona Fringe site for Friday 6 November at 20:00 for €5. The Fringe blurb calls it "a dark, movingly funny solo show" about grief, loss and finding laughter. That is the festival's own wording. It is also the cheapest dated ticket we have for this room.
The two Spanish runs are listed on Atrápalo only. The monologue run lasts about 90 minutes and starts at €12. The spiritual comedy show lasts about 45 minutes and starts at €15. Both are in Spanish, so they suit you only if you follow the language at speed.
Dead Parent Society makes our list of one-off shows, which you can read on the one-off shows page. The Top 10 comedy shows in Barcelona ranks the weekly and festival headliners separately, and shows how the lists are built.
Source: Barcelona Fringe event page and the Atrápalo listing, seen 2 November 2026.
What it costs
Three prices exist in our data: €5, €12 and €15. The median of the three is €12. The Thursday night is free and is not in that median.
Atrápalo says "from" for both runs, which means the lowest ticket and not the only price. A better seat, a group or a drink bundle could cost more. The platform may also add a booking fee at checkout. We did not go through checkout.
The cheapest way to see the room is the Fringe show at €5. The next step up is the Spanish monologue run at €12. For comparison, a Wednesday Night Comedy ticket at the Laietana room is €8 online, and the open mics there are free. Secret is cheap, but it is not the cheapest night in the city.

Who Secret suits
A second night, once you know the scene
If you have already been to a Clubhouse show, Secret is a good contrast. The room is smaller, the acts are rougher and the evening is later. You see the same scene from a different angle.
A date night
It can work, with a plan. Eat upstairs first, book ahead and sit toward the back. The Thursday try-out format means you may laugh a lot or very little. Our date night guide lists safer fixed-time shows if you cannot risk a flat evening.
A group of friends
Small rooms fill fast. We found no group price and no group booking page. If you are four or more, message the organiser through the Meetup event before you turn up. Our group night out guide covers rooms that publish a group rate.
Alone, or new in town
The Thursday night is listed under the English Comedy in Barcelona Meetup group, which scores 4.6 across 732 ratings on our read of 2 November 2026. That number rates the group and says nothing about the room itself. It does show the night is promoted to an English-speaking audience in the city.
If you speak little Spanish
Stick to Thorny Thursday and the Fringe show. The two Atrápalo runs are in Spanish and are not a good fit. The Meetup text says stand-up in English and Spanish, so even an English night can include some Spanish. The English nights out guide is the place to look for fully English options.
Source: Meetup group page and the event page, seen 2 November 2026.
Booking and house rules
The club sells English shows through its own site, where each event page has a ticket button. The Spanish runs also sell through Atrápalo, and the Fringe show through the festival site.
We found no general age rule, refund rule, dress code or dog rule; age limits are set per show. The club lists the email secretcomedyclubbcn@gmail.com and the phone +34 618 610 883. Use them, or the Meetup event page, for any question.
The order we suggest is simple. Check the dated listing, confirm the language, book through the platform where one exists, and keep a screen shot of the confirmation. For a Spanish run sold through a ticket platform, that screen shot is your proof.

How Secret compares
Against the Clubhouse, Secret loses on information. The Laietana review and the Canvis Nous review rest on the club's own pages, with dated shows on every day of the window. Secret has four dated listings from three sites.
Where it wins is character. It is a small single room, not part of a two-room operation with a kitchen and a festival programme. If you want to see where English-language comics try out new jokes, a Thursday here is the nearest thing to that in our data.
Against the Spanish-language clubs in the Top 10, Secret lists an English night and they do not. Teatre Muntaner is a larger comedy theatre with shows in Spanish and Catalan. Neither lists English shows.

How we scored the room
Secret scores 51 points out of 100. Its score was 38 on the main show file alone, and rose to 51 after we added the Thursday night and the Fringe show.
| Criterion | Points | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Shows and line-up | 10 of 25 | Four dated shows and four titles; no full schedule could be read |
| Easy for visitors | 10 of 20 | English on two dates; booking by listing; no accessibility notes |
| Value | 9 of 15 | Median €12 over three priced shows; Thursday price unknown |
| Room and atmosphere | 9 of 15 | Comedian-run room under a restaurant; 74 seats from an older listing |
| Reliability | 6 of 15 | Dates on three days of week one, none read for week two |
| Public ratings | 7 of 10 | Atrápalo show ratings of 9.9, 8.8 and 7.8 out of 10 |
The public ratings need a careful reading. The three Atrápalo ratings are for three shows at the room. Red Flags has 9.9 from 33 votes. El Asado Stand Up has 8.8 from 40. La hora de Sergio Alamar has 7.8 from 55. Weighted by votes they come to 4.3 out of 5. They rate shows, not the room, and not Thursday's night.
The total of 51 puts the room in place 5, just behind Teatre Muntaner and La Sala by LastCrit. The hub page lists every club in score order. A published weekly schedule would lift the show and reliability points first.

What we could not source
- The room's owner or operator. No page we read names one, and we say nothing about it.
- A fixed weekly programme beyond Thorny Thursday, which is listed until 17 December 2026.
- An age rule that applies to every show.
- The weekdays and times of the two Atrápalo runs.
- The seat count this year, and any accessibility facts.
- What the other eleven Fringe shows at the room are.
We have not been to the room for this page, and nothing here describes a visit. A first-hand write-up and photos will be added when someone has been and the rights are cleared.

What public reviews say
The quotes below are word for word, in the language written, each with a translation line. The first two are Google reviews that the club shows on its own home page, so read them as colour and not as a rating. The third is a verified buyer on an Atrápalo show page.
Laura Osuna (Lauslau), Google review, no date shown: “El sitio es muy guay para stand up comedy.”
Translation: the place is very good for stand-up comedy.
joan gatnau i florensa, Google review, no date shown: “Excepcional emplaçament per gaudir de genuïna comèdia en un ambient autèntic i únic”
Translation: an exceptional place to enjoy genuine comedy in an authentic and unique setting.
FRANCISCO JAVIER, Atrápalo, 7 June 2026, on the Spanish show El Asado: “Todos los monologuistas y el presentador fantásticos uno de los mejores monólogos que he asistido estuvo increíble.”
Translation: all the comedians and the host were fantastic, one of the finest monologue shows I have attended, astonishing.

Questions people ask
Is Secret Comedy Club in English?
Partly, and the club says so. Its own site describes stand-up in English and Spanish, with separate English Shows and Spanish Shows pages. The English page lists 15 dated shows from 5 November to 18 December, including Thorny Thursday every week at 22:00. The longer Atrápalo runs are in Spanish, so read the language line of each listing.
How much is a ticket?
It depends on the show. Thorny Thursday is free: you reserve a seat at no cost. The Fringe solo show on 6 November is €5, and Fools Book Club that night is €8 online or €10 on the door. The Spanish monologue run lists from €12 on Atrápalo, and the spiritual comedy run from €15.
Where exactly is the room?
Carrer de la Junta de Comerç 28, in El Raval, postcode 08001. The club's own site, the Meetup event page and the Atrápalo listing all give this address. One older directory gives a different street, Sant Pau, which we treat as outdated. Match the street name on your ticket before you set off.
Can I just turn up on Thursday?
The Thursday event page says to reserve in advance to guarantee your seat, or try the door, where seats may still be available. The reservation costs nothing. The room is small, so a reservation is the safer choice. If the page does not load, ask the club by phone on +34 618 610 883.
Does the club have a website or a weekly programme?
Yes. Secret Comedy Club runs secretcomedyclubbarcelona.com, in English, Spanish and Catalan, with event pages and ticket reservations. Thorny Thursday is the weekly English night, and the Spanish shows have their own page. You can write to secretcomedyclubbcn@gmail.com or call +34 618 610 883. Dated listings also appear on Atrápalo and Meetup.
Is there food or a bar?
The Meetup text describes a Chilean restaurant upstairs, with empanadas and drinks. The room itself sits under the restaurant. We found no kitchen hours, no menu and no minimum spend rule, so ask when you book. If dinner matters, eat upstairs before the show rather than count on it afterwards.
Is it a good first night of comedy in English?
It suits a relaxed, small-room night more than a polished headline show. Thorny Thursday is a try-out night, so quality varies from week to week. For a fixed time and a published price, the Clubhouse rooms are the safer first booking. Secret works well as a second night once you want something rougher.
Do they serve alcohol-free drinks?
The club does not say. The Thorny Thursday page mentions a Chilean restaurant upstairs serving empanadas and drinks, but it names no drinks list and no soft drinks. Some pay-what-you-want Fringe shows are marked consumption required, so you may be asked to buy a drink. If you do not drink alcohol, ask by phone or email before you go.
How do I find the entrance?
Through the restaurant upstairs, according to an Atrápalo show page. It tells you to go to the Chilean restaurant Torres del Paine, walk through to the bar and quietly ask the staff for the Secret Comedy Club. The club's own site calls the entrance hidden, with a speakeasy feel. The same page gives Metro Liceo under how to get there.
Is Secret Comedy Club wheelchair accessible?
No source we read says. The club's site and its ticket listings give no step-free access notes, no toilet layout and no seat plan, and the room sits in a basement under a restaurant. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, ask the club by phone on +34 618 610 883 or by email before you book, and ask about stairs.
How old do you have to be?
It depends on the show. Atrápalo lists the Red Flags run as suitable for all ages, the El Asado show with a minimum age of 16, and the Spanish monologue run and the Sergio Alamar show as for adults. Thorny Thursday and the Fringe pages name no age rule. Ask the club if you plan to bring anyone under 18.
How long are the shows?
Thorny Thursday runs from 22:00 to 23:30, which is 90 minutes. Fringe solo shows are listed for one hour, such as Dead Parent Society from 8pm to 9pm. On Atrápalo the Spanish monologue run lasts one hour 30 minutes, El Asado 75 minutes, Sergio Alamar one hour 15 minutes and Red Flags 45 minutes.
Do they only have comedy in English?
No. Secret describes itself as a stand-up club in English and Spanish, and its site has a Spanish Shows page and a Catalan version. The Atrápalo runs we found are in Spanish or Castellano. For English, use the English Shows page, where each show is marked, and skip anything labelled Castellano if you do not speak Spanish.
Is Secret the top pick for English comedy in Barcelona?
No. It is place 5 on our review score, 51 out of 100, held back by volume and by gaps in what it publishes. The club's English Shows page lists 15 dated shows over six weeks, many of them in Fringe week. The Clubhouse rooms list English shows far more often, so use them for a weekly plan and Secret for a rougher second night.
Can I book the club for a private event?
Yes, the club offers it. Its private events page lists stand-up shows for company meetings, parties, birthdays and weddings, plus custom monologues and intensive stand-up courses for teams. It publishes no prices and no capacity, so email secretcomedyclubbcn@gmail.com with your date and group size to ask for a quote.
