The short answer
Teatreneu is a theatre in the Vila de Gràcia with two rooms and a comedy programme in Spanish. Its most famous night is the Impro Show, an improvised comedy that has put queues on the street outside. It is not an English-language room.
Go if you speak Spanish and want a proper theatre night, with a show that changes every evening. Skip it if you need English: the Clubhouse: Laietana review and the Canvis Nous review cover the rooms that run in English.
It sits at place 8 in the Top 10 comedy clubs in Barcelona, with 43.3 out of 100 points from the 90 points we could score. The 10 points we left out are public ratings, because the only rating we found is one the venue publishes about itself.
At a glance. Address: Carrer de Terol, 26, 08012 Barcelona (Vila de Gràcia). Rooms: Sala Xavier Fàbregas and Sala Cafè Teatre. Language: Spanish, with some Catalan. Prices: from €14 to €18 in our window. Capacity: not published. Book on the Teatreneu website.

Where it is
Teatreneu is at Carrer de Terol 26, postcode 08012, in the Vila de Gràcia. The venue's home page confirms the address. Gràcia is a separate district to the north of the old city, and it has its own streets, squares and bars.
The theatre's own how to get there page lists Fontana on line L3, Joanic on line L4 and the FGC station Gràcia. It also lists several bus lines and the night buses N4 and N6. The Taquilla venue page names Joanic and Verdaguer instead, so we follow the theatre. Use the route planner on TMB to confirm the stop and the last metro on the night.
For drivers, the same page lists four SABA car parks nearby. It says the theatre staff can give you a voucher for a 25% discount at the car park.
A 2025 report on Catalan public television describes the street. It says you often pass Carrer de Terol and find a long queue outside the theatre. Plan to arrive early for the Impro Show.
Open in Google Maps to see the street. Gràcia is a good barrio for a meal before the show, but we have not rated its restaurants and make no claim about them.

What the building and the rooms are like
The venue says it occupies a former modernist cooperative building in Gràcia. It describes itself as a place where theatre is experienced up close. It adds that thousands of spectators come each year.
There are two rooms. Sala Xavier Fàbregas hosts the Impro Show and Los Hijos, a monologue. Sala Cafè Teatre hosts the Pepi Labrador monologue and Viejóvenes. No capacity is published for either room, so we cannot say which is larger.
An old Time Out entry describes the venue as one that specialises in monologues, improv, magic and family shows. It adds that the public decides what shows and what goes. That sentence describes the mix well, even if the listing is old.
The theatre publishes an accessibility page. It says Sala Cafè Teatre is on the ground floor and fully adapted for reduced mobility, with no steps. In Sala Xavier Fàbregas a lift serves the stalls only, and the upper level needs a flight of stairs. Wheelchair spaces are reserved and marked. If a mobility problem arises after you book, contact the theatre as soon as possible.
The venue is a real theatre first, and a comedy club second. Most of the other titles on the home page are theatre, magic or children's shows, among them a Tennessee Williams play. Check the title before you book.

What is on in a normal fortnight
The venue prints only the next five sessions on each show page, so a longer view needs more reading than the site allows. Our list holds 11 sessions between 2 and 15 November 2026, across 4 titles. The true count is higher.
| Date | Time | Show and room | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wed 4 Nov | 20:00 | Impro Show, Sala Xavier Fàbregas | €14 |
| Thu 5 Nov | 20:30 | Impro Show, Sala Xavier Fàbregas | €14 |
| Fri 6 Nov | 19:00 and 21:00 | Impro Show, Sala Xavier Fàbregas | €16 |

| Sat 7 Nov | 12:00 | Impro Show, Sala Xavier Fàbregas | €16 |

| Sat 7 Nov | 21:30 | Viejóvenes, Sala Cafè Teatre | €16 |
| Fri 13 Nov | 21:30 | Viviendo a todo gass (Pepi Labrador), Sala Cafè Teatre | €16 |
| Sat 14 Nov | 18:30 | Los Hijos. Adolescentes, Sala Xavier Fàbregas | €18 |
| Sat 14 Nov | 21:30 | Viejóvenes, Sala Cafè Teatre | €16 |
The Impro Show text says it runs on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, with Friday and Sunday formats. A news report puts it at two sessions a day, afternoon and evening, from Wednesday to Sunday. Our list holds fewer, because of the five-session limit.
The pattern for the rest is easy to read. Friday at 21:30 is the Pepi Labrador monologue. Saturday at 18:30 is Los Hijos, and Saturday at 21:30 is Viejóvenes. Each runs for months, which is why the programme is dependable.
Our reliability score is 8 out of 15. Sessions fall on 4 days in the first week and 2 in the second, and the second week is probably under-counted.

The shows, one by one
Impro Show
Catalan public television calls the Impro Show a phenomenon that draws young people to the theatre. It is staged by the company Planeta Impro, which has run it for 24 years. In the 2024 to 2025 season it was the second most-watched show of the theatre season, by the report's figures from the theatre association.
The format is simple. Before the audience goes in, people write phrases on slips of paper. The company uses them to build the games and the four stories of each night. The show comes in four versions: classic, love, horror and music.
The director, José Adserías, calls improvisation "l'art de la cooperació", the art of cooperation. One audience member who travelled from Lleida told the reporter "mai saps el que veuràs": you never know what you will see. The audience, the report says, is mostly young and often comes back.
The show is mostly in Spanish. Some sessions are in Catalan, such as those held with a public youth programme. For a visitor with little Spanish, the games rely on quick speech, so expect to miss lines.
The page title advertises tickets from €12. In our window the session list shows €14 on weekdays and €16 on Friday and Saturday. A ticket seller lists about 70 minutes and a lower age limit, which you should confirm on the show page.
Two Spanish monologues
The first is a monologue by Pepi Labrador, in Sala Cafè Teatre on Friday at 21:30, from €16. The venue lists a run until 27 November 2026.
Los Hijos. Adolescentes is a monologue by Andrés Torres, in Sala Xavier Fàbregas on Saturday at 18:30, from €18. It is the dearest comedy ticket in our window. The run is listed until 30 January 2027.
Both are in Spanish. Neither page states the length in the text we read, so we do not give one.
Viejóvenes
Viejóvenes is stand-up for people in their thirties and beyond, about feeling older than your age or younger than your years. Raquel Ramos and Gabriel Córdoba perform it. It runs 70 minutes, with a recommended age of 16 and over, on Saturday at 21:30, from €16.
The page ends with a line that sums up the show: there are more viejóvenes like you. The venue lists the run until 26 December 2026.
Source: the venue's show pages (Impro Show, Viejóvenes), the 3Cat report of 11 October 2025 and an Atrápalo listing, seen 2 November 2026.
What it costs
Our window holds 11 paid sessions with a "from" price. The median is €16, the range runs from €14 to €18. No session is free, and the page shows no group price.
The price is the lowest ticket in the session list, not the price of every seat. Seats may cost more by position. The session list is the only place to see the exact spread.
Value scores 5 points out of 15. A theatre ticket of €16 for a 70-minute show is ordinary for a venue with two rooms and a staged production. It is more than a Clubhouse open mic, which is free, and about the same as a Clubhouse showcase at €10 to €12 with a drink to buy. The difference is the language.
For a tight budget, the weekday Impro Show at €14 is the cheapest comedy in our list. See our date night guide for how it compares by price with other options.

Who Teatreneu suits
A date
Friday at 19:00 or 21:00 for the Impro Show gives you something to laugh about together. The audience supplies the phrases, so you have a stake in the show. Dinner in Gràcia first is easy to plan.
A group
The impro format works with friends, because the games invite shouting out. We found no group price, so book together and check the seating on the session page. Our group night out guide lists the shows that do offer a group price.
Spanish learners
The Impro Show is a decent test of your Spanish: short games, visual jokes and repeated formats. Viejóvenes needs more fluency, since stand-up leans on language.
Visitors with no Spanish
Pick another room. Our English nights out guide and the stand-up and open mics guide list English shows by date. If you like improv in English, see the improv guide.
Source: our reading of the venue's show pages and the linked guides, seen 2 November 2026.
Booking and practical notes
The venue sells tickets through its own site. Each show has a buy button and a session list, and the home page offers gift tickets. The site is available in Catalan and Spanish only.
Show pages list only the next five sessions. A "more dates" link needs scripts that we did not run, so plan with the dates shown, and look again nearer the day.
The venue is also on Instagram and Facebook as Teatreneu Barcelona. We did not read either, and no fact here comes from them.
Age limits depend on the show. Viejóvenes recommends 16 and over. Read the age line on the page of each show, because children's shows share the same building.

How Teatreneu compares
Against the Clubhouse rooms, Teatreneu is a theatre with a fixed running order. The Clubhouse is a comedy club with open mics, a quiz and showcases, in English. The two do not compete for the same audience.
Against Cafè Teatre Llantiol, the other Spanish-language room in the list, Teatreneu has a bigger programme and a clearer calendar. Against Craft Barcelona, it is more formal. Against the promoter Barcelona Comedy Club, it is one building with its own rooms.

How we scored the room
Teatreneu earned 13 points out of 25 for shows, 8 out of 20 for visitors, 5 out of 15 for value, 5 out of 15 for the room and 8 out of 15 for reliability. That makes 39 points from 90 available, or 43.3 out of 100.
The home page shows a rating of 4.5 from 9611 reviews, with no platform named. We treat it as a claim by the venue and leave it out of the total. The 10 public-rating points are therefore not scored.
Data gaps: the capacity, a complete session list, and the comedy shows we did not read. The home page lists three more titles that we did not open: a monologue-and-vermouth show, a show about the eighties and one more.
We have not been to the venue for this page, and nothing here describes a visit. The slot for our own notes is empty until someone has been.

What public reviews say
These are short quotes from public Tripadvisor reviews, copied as they appear on the English page and credited by the name shown. Some are machine translations of Spanish originals. We did not write them and cannot vouch for them. Tripadvisor rates the venue 3.6 out of 5 from 170 reviews, and the reviews cover all its shows, not only comedy.

Questions people ask
Is there comedy in English at Teatreneu?
Not in our data. The venue's own pages list its comedy shows as Spanish-language, and the site itself is in Catalan and Spanish. The Impro Show is mostly in Spanish, with some Catalan sessions, according to Catalan public television. If you want English comedy, the two Clubhouse rooms are the better choice.
How much does the Impro Show cost?
In our window of 2 to 15 November 2026, the show page lists "from" prices of €14 on weekdays and €16 on Friday and Saturday sessions. The page title advertises a lower entry price of €12. Prices change by session, so open the session list for the date you want.
Where is Teatreneu and which metro is closest?
It is at Carrer de Terol 26, 08012 Barcelona, in the Vila de Gràcia. The theatre's own page lists the metro stations Fontana (L3) and Joanic (L4), the FGC station Gràcia and several bus lines, including the 22 and 24. The Taquilla page names Joanic and Verdaguer instead, so the official list is the one to follow. Check the route on TMB.
How long are the shows and who can go?
It depends on the show. Viejóvenes runs 70 minutes and recommends an age of 16 or over, according to its page. A ticket seller lists the Impro Show at about 70 minutes with a lower age limit. Read the age line on the page of the show you choose before you book.
Does Teatreneu have a bar?
Yes. The theatre's question page says that in Sala Cafè Teatre you may bring drinks from the theatre bar into the room, but not food. In Sala Xavier Fàbregas only water is allowed. The page does not list the drinks, so ask at the bar about alcohol-free options.
Can I buy tickets on the day?
The show pages list sessions, with a buy button on each, and show only the next five dates at a time. We found no statement about door sales. Popular sessions of the Impro Show draw queues on the street, according to a 2025 news report, so book ahead for Friday and Saturday.
Is Teatreneu wheelchair accessible?
Largely yes, by the theatre's own account. Sala Cafè Teatre is on the ground floor, fully adapted, with movable unnumbered seats. In Sala Xavier Fàbregas a lift serves the stalls only, and wheelchair spaces are marked. The upper level needs stairs. The page does not mention toilets or hearing loops, so ask about those before you book.
Can I enter late?
No. The theatre's question page says entry to the rooms is not allowed once the performance has started. Plan to be at the door before the start, and remember the street queue that news reports describe for the Impro Show. A late arrival forfeits the ticket, because the page also says tickets are not refunded or changed.
Are the seats numbered?
It depends on the room. Sala Xavier Fàbregas has numbered seats, with the stalls on the ground floor and the amphitheatre on the first floor. Sala Cafè Teatre does not number its seats. In the unnumbered room, arrive early if you want a choice of seat, and keep your group together at the door.
Can I get a refund or change my ticket?
No. The theatre's question page says changes and refunds are not accepted, even if you bought full price and later find you qualify for a discount. Tickets carry no name, so you can pass yours to someone else. A digital ticket on your phone is enough at the door, and you do not need to print it.
What are the rules on phones and photos?
You may bring your phone, but it must be switched off, not only silenced, because light and sound disturb the room. Photos and recordings are prohibited in the hall unless staff authorise them. Breaking either rule can mean removal from the venue. There is also no cloakroom, and bicycles and electric scooters may not come inside.
Can I have dinner at Teatreneu?
Tripadvisor reviewers from 2014 to 2022 describe eating and drinking at the venue, and one called it an old theatre with cheap food. A review title also mentions a dinner and show package. The theatre's own question page does not mention a restaurant, so confirm that dinner is still served before you plan on it.
How is Teatreneu rated on Tripadvisor?
Tripadvisor shows 3.6 out of 5 from 170 reviews on 2 November 2026. Praise goes to the actors, the old-theatre setting and the prices. Complaints cover queues, ticket handling and slow restaurant service. The score covers every show, including magic and children's titles, so it says little about the comedy alone.
Is Teatreneu the top pick for English comedy in Barcelona?
No. It is place 8 in our Top 10, with 43.3 points out of 100, and its comedy is in Spanish and Catalan. For English nights several days a week, read the Clubhouse reviews. Teatreneu suits Spanish speakers who want improv or monologues in a real theatre, with step-free access to its cafe room.
