The short answer

Cafè Teatre Llantiol is a small cafe-theatre in El Raval, a few streets from La Rambla. It stages monologues, a few plays and the odd concert, with the audience seated at bar tables. In our data it is a Spanish-language room.

Go if you speak Spanish, or want to hear it spoken, and you like a show with a drink in your hand. Skip it if you want English comedy tonight. For that, read the Clubhouse: Laietana review or the Canvis Nous review.

It sits at place 7 in the Top 10 comedy clubs in Barcelona, with 46.7 out of 100 points from the 90 points we could score. The missing 10 points are public ratings, because we found none for the room.

At a glance. Address: Carrer de la Riereta, 7, 08001 Barcelona (El Raval). Language: Spanish in our data. Prices: from €10.35 to €35. Seating: small tables around a full bar. Capacity: not published. Book through the ticket sites, for example Taquilla.

Where it is

The room is at Carrer de la Riereta 7, postcode 08001, in El Raval, which is part of Ciutat Vella. Time Out places it a short walk from La Rambla.

An old Time Out entry named a metro stop, but the current Taquilla page does not, and the venue's own site would not load for us. We therefore name no station. For the route on the night, plan on TMB, the city transport operator, which also covers night buses.

The ticket page calls the address approximate. It adds that the only fully valid address is the one printed on your ticket. Read the ticket before you leave, and do not rely on a pin alone.

Open in Google Maps to see the street and plan the walk. Check the route in daylight if you will arrive from a different part of town.

What the room is like

A cafe-theatre is a hybrid. The stage is small, the seating is informal, and the bar stays open while the show runs. Llantiol follows that pattern.

Time Out's Spanish edition describes the seating in one line. Part of the audience sits "alrededor de pequeñas mesas de bar", around small bar tables. There are no rows of theatre seats. The same entry says a drink in hand is part of the plan.

The English listing says the "cafe" in the name means a full bar. It also gives one seating tip. Sit near the front, because the clink of glasses behind the bar can compete with the stage. We pass that on as Time Out's advice, not as something we heard.

The venue does not publish a capacity on any page we read. We print "not published" in the facts table and do not guess. It is a small room, which suits stand-up. It also means popular sessions fill, and the ticket page marks several November dates as low availability.

We found no statement about steps, lifts or toilets. That is a gap in our data, not proof of a problem. Phone the venue if access matters to you.

What is on in a normal fortnight

The room has no website we could read, so the sessions below come from the ticket page. It lists 14 dated sessions between 2 and 15 November 2026, across 5 titles. The ticket page prints one "from" price per session. It is the lowest price on offer, not the price of every seat.

Two patterns stand out. The Vermunólogos format returns every weekend, and Ramón Cómico takes the Saturday late afternoon. Weeknights are thin: we found one Thursday session in the whole fortnight, and none on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Our reliability score reflects that. Sessions fall on 4 days in the first week and 3 in the second. The pattern comes from one listing, so a quiet fortnight on the ticket site may be a quiet fortnight in the room, or a gap in the listing.

The shows, one by one

Vermunólogos

This is the format the room is known for in our listings. The name joins "monólogos" and "vermut". A ticket listing says the price includes one drink, such as vermouth, a small beer or a soft drink.

The idea started with weekend midday sessions, according to the ticket seller. Success then added Friday evening sessions. That matches the dates we found: Friday at 20:00, Saturday and Sunday at 12:00, and a Sunday session at 18:30.

The price differs a lot by slot. The Friday and midday sessions list from €35, while the Sunday 18:30 sessions list from €14 and €16. We do not know why. If the cheaper slot suits you, book it first, because the ticket page marks some dates as low availability.

We found no stated language, so we infer Spanish from the Spanish title and listing. Read the event text before you book if you want to be sure.

Ramón Cómico on Saturday afternoons

Ramón Cómico has a long run in this room. The Barcelona city guide says he has premiered 12 monologue shows in 17 years, and lists an anthology of his earlier material, "Lo puto mejor", at Teatre El Llantiol.

The city guide gives that anthology a running time of 1 hour 15 minutes. It lists an advance ticket at €15, plus booking fees. The listing does not state a language. We read Spanish from the listing wording, as with every other show here.

In our fortnight, Cada vez más tontos runs on 7 November at 17:00 and 19:00, and Lo Puto Mejor on 14 November at the same two times. Both list from €16 on the ticket page. Two sessions on the same afternoon mean you can pick the later one and still be home for dinner.

Millenial Frustrado and La Madre que nos parió

Millenial Frustrado runs on Thursday 5 November at 20:00, from €10.35, the lowest price in our fortnight. It carries a low availability flag on the ticket page.

La Madre que nos parió, billed as monologues and more, is a Saturday 22:00 slot on 7 November, from €15. We found no cast list, so we say nothing about who performs.

Source: Taquilla listing and the Barcelona city guide entry for Lo puto mejor, seen 2 November 2026.

What it costs

The ticket page prints prices from €10.35 to €35 for our fortnight. The median "from" price is €16. The cheapest ticket is a Thursday evening show. The dearest are the Vermunólogos sessions on Friday and at midday on the weekend.

These are aggregator prices, not the show's own event page. A ticket seller adds booking fees on top, and the city guide says so for the anthology show. Compare the total at the final step of checkout, not the headline.

Value is where the room scores lowest after visitors: 5 points out of 15. The reason is the spread. A drink and a show for €14 or €16 is fair. The same format at €35 asks more than the English Clubhouse showcases, which start at €8 online for a normal night.

A tip for a tight budget: choose Sunday at 18:30 for Vermunólogos, or a Saturday Ramón Cómico slot. For more cheap options, see our date night guide and our group night out guide.

Who Llantiol suits

Spanish speakers and learners

This is the room's home ground. Monologue comedy leans on wordplay and fast references, so a beginner will miss jokes. An intermediate learner can follow the shape of a set and enjoy the room.

A date

The tables and the bar make the night easy to share. Choose the Friday 20:00 Vermunólogos or a Saturday 22:00 slot for an evening feel. A midday session suits a long Sunday lunch plan better than a first date.

A group of friends

The listing shows no group price. Small tables suit groups of two to four better than a party of ten. For a larger crowd, phone ahead and ask whether tables can be joined.

A visitor with no Spanish

Go to the Clubhouse. Our English nights out guide lists the shows that run in English this fortnight, and the stand-up and open mic guide covers the free nights.

Booking and practical notes

Tickets are sold through the ticket sites that Taquilla compares, among them Atrápalo and Fever. The listing links to each seller. Prices can differ by a few cents between sellers.

The venue is listed with its own site, llantiol.com, in Time Out and in the city guide. We could not load it for this review, so no fact on this page depends on it. Check it for the current programme.

We found no age rule, no door price and no cancellation policy. Ask the seller before you pay if any of these matter. Time Out advises a seat near the front, so arrive early on a busy night.

The venue is also used as a theatre for plays, and the city guide lists other monologue shows there. Check the title, because not every show in the room is comedy.

How Llantiol compares

Against the other rooms in the Top 10, Llantiol is a Spanish-language neighbour to the English venues. It scores well on its regular weekend sessions and poorly on information for visitors, with 5 points out of 20.

Against Teatreneu, in Gràcia, it is smaller in programme but closer to the Rambla. Against Craft Barcelona, it offers a fuller calendar but no English night. Against the promoter Barcelona Comedy Club, it is one named room with its own sessions.

Compare the whole Top 10 list and the Top 10 comedy shows before you decide. The shows list ranks nights, not rooms, so a good night can happen in a modest room.

Source: our scorecard and the venue pages behind it, seen 2 November 2026.

How we scored the room

Llantiol earned 15 points out of 25 for shows, 5 out of 20 for visitors, 5 out of 15 for value, 7 out of 15 for the room and 10 out of 15 for reliability. That makes 42 points from 90 available, or 46.7 out of 100.

Public ratings carry 10 points. We found no public rating for the room, so the criterion is left out and not scored as zero. Nothing is invented to fill the gap, and the scorecard says so.

The data gaps are the website, the capacity and the language of the shows. The language is inferred from the Spanish listing. We list the gaps because a reader should know which numbers are solid.

We have not been to the room for this page, and nothing here describes a visit. The slot for our own visit notes is empty and will be filled once someone has been. Our Clubhouse: Laietana review uses the same method.

What public reviews say

These are short quotes from public Tripadvisor reviews, copied as they appear and credited by the name shown. The Spanish one carries a plain English gloss. We did not write them and cannot vouch for them. Tripadvisor rates the room 4.6 out of 5 from 74 reviews, and the reviews cover plays, flamenco and comedy, not only the shows in our fortnight.

Questions people ask

Is Cafè Teatre Llantiol in English?

Not in our data. Every session we found for 2 to 15 November 2026 is a Spanish-language listing, and the ticket page states no language. An old Time Out entry says many shows were in English in past years. Treat the room as a Spanish-language venue unless the event page says otherwise.

How much is a ticket?

The ticket page lists "from" prices between €10.35 and €35 for our two weeks. Most sessions start at €15 or €16. The €35 price belongs to the Vermunólogos sessions on Friday evening and at midday on Saturday and Sunday. Some Sunday evening sessions start at €14.

Where is Cafè Teatre Llantiol and how do I get there?

It is at Carrer de la Riereta 7 in El Raval, 08001 Barcelona. No current page we opened names a metro stop, so plan the route on TMB. The ticket page marks the address as approximate and says the address printed on your ticket is the valid one.

Do I get a drink with my ticket?

For Vermunólogos, a ticket listing says the price includes one drink, such as vermouth, a small beer or a soft drink. For the other shows we found no statement. The room has a full bar, according to Time Out, so you can buy drinks during the night. Check the ticket text before you book.

Is the room accessible for wheelchair users?

We could not find an accessibility statement for the room, on the ticket page or elsewhere. We therefore cannot say whether there are steps or a lift. Phone the venue before you book if anyone in your group needs step-free access, and ask for the seating plan at the same time.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

We found no door price and no statement about door sales. The sessions we read are sold through ticket sites, and several are marked as low availability. Book ahead for the Friday and weekend sessions. If you arrive without a ticket, ask at the bar, and do not count on a seat.

Do they ever run shows in English?

Time Out says many shows are in English throughout the year, but that page is dated 3 May 2011 and names no current night. A Tripadvisor reviewer wrote in December 2016 that he saw Eddie Izzard there. Our November 2026 data shows no English session. Call 93 329 90 09, the number on the Time Out listing, before you book.

Does Llantiol serve alcohol-free drinks?

Time Out says the room has a full bar, and the Vermunólogos ticket text lists a soft drink among the drinks included. So non-alcoholic options exist. A Tripadvisor reviewer in December 2016 called the bar prices below average for Barcelona. We found no menu, so ask the bar staff for the full list.

Can I pay by card at Llantiol?

Probably not at the bar. A Tripadvisor reviewer in August 2023 wrote that the venue does not accept cards, even for drinks. Bring cash for the bar. Online tickets are paid in advance on the ticket site. Payment rules change, so treat one review as a warning, not a rule, and ask when you arrive.

How long do the shows last?

It depends on the show. The Barcelona city guide lists the Lo puto mejor anthology at 1 hour 15 minutes. A Tripadvisor reviewer in August 2023 wrote that a comedy night ran about an hour, not the 90 minutes advertised. The Vermunólogos page states no length, so read the show text and leave time for a drink afterwards.

When is the bar open?

Tripadvisor lists Tuesday to Friday 19:30 to 22:30, Saturday 11:45 to 23:30 and Sunday 11:45 to 21:00. An older Time Out entry gives other hours. Both are general listings, not a show calendar. Come at the time printed on your ticket, and phone if you want a drink before the doors open.

Is Llantiol the top pick for English comedy in Barcelona?

No. It is place 7 in our Top 10, with 46.7 points out of 100, and the sessions in our November data are Spanish. The English-language claim on Time Out dates from 2011. For English comedy on most days of the week, read the Clubhouse reviews. Llantiol suits Spanish speakers who like a drink at a small table.

Where do I sit?

Time Out describes small tables around a full bar, dinner-theatre style, and advises sitting near the front, because bar noise carries from behind. A Tripadvisor reviewer in December 2016 praised the table seating. We found no seat numbers or seating plan, so arrive early if you want a choice of table.

What else happens at Llantiol besides comedy?

Tripadvisor reviewers in February and March 2024 describe a Tuesday flamenco night with a guitarist, a singer and a dancer. Another reviewer, in July 2024, noticed two grand pianos near the bar. Time Out lists smaller stage productions, stand-up and concerts. Check the title before you book, so you do not buy a flamenco ticket by mistake.

Is the humour right for every audience?

Not always. A reviewer who came with a disability-services foundation in March 2024 gave one star out of five and called some of the monologues offensive. Others praise the same room. The ticket pages we read state no age limit. If you bring guests, read the show text first and ask the venue about content.

Which metro is nearest to Llantiol?

Time Out names Sant Antoni on line L2 as the nearest transport. That entry is dated 3 May 2011, and the current ticket page names no station, so confirm the route on TMB before you travel. According to Time Out, the room is in El Raval, a short walk from La Rambla.
